Running Rivers...

Back again into the civilization that is Pokhara! Email and hot showers.. ahhh simple luxuries..
The last week or so has been pretty rad.
We had some of the best whitewater so far on the famous Marsyandi river. Hiking up the major trekking trail that leads into the Annapurna Sanctuary.
The three of us have got the art of transportation haggling down to a science! Although we still end up paying inflated prices.. Hiring buses, jeeps and finally porters to get us to where we want to go, seems easy now..
The river was pretty awesome. Continuous read and run rapids.. with a couple of scouts kept us satisfied for hours! Unfortunately I was suffering from a slight fever and the "drugs" I took ended up knocking me out. I was feeling happy but weak..
I will post some photos soon.
Most recently we just came off of the Modi Khola which is on the other end of the popular trekking route of the Annapurna Circuit.. 4 hours of portering up and we got to run an awesome continuous read and run river for 5 hours! A little on the low side so lots of rock bashing but tons of fun..
With Tristan leaving back to Canada on the Nov 25 we are planning on heading back to Kathmandu to maybe squeeze in a last hard run as a trio on the Tamba Kosi.
Ahh what a tough life we lead! Again I will post some pics.. I might try and link this blog up to an online picassa album I have just started...
Take care all
