After 30 hrs of travel time it was definitely nice to get horizontal for a while, even though it was in the midst of crazy New Delhi!
Our pickup taxi from the hotel was what you imagine and hear about the driving skills on the roads here in India.
Greg and I pile into this tiny little decrepit van with a driver that was holding our name card amongst the gang of other touts and drivers..
He cranks the blaring indian music up and starts honking and flashing his lights to jockey his way out to the highway. Of course on the highway the horn and light charade continues while weaving in and out of trucks with no lights and mopeds loaded with people, this is all at 4am!
Of course, within 10 minutes we get a flat tire; and of course he has no spare.. Of course..
A few of the classic " No problem, no problem.." and calls on his cell to his buddy taxi driver and we get a spare..
A couple of bheedi puffs and we are back on our way weaving, honking and flashing.
Bang!! Another flat.. "No problem, no problem.." Yeah right..
That was when we broke into the duty free booze..
